seven dust

Post by courtney333 »

I was wondering if anyone knew what percent of seven dust you can dust your cats with to kill fleas. I know it does not sound normal but it works, i just don't remember what percent it was

Sevin dust contains carbaryl, which is toxic and carcinogenic.

Use only products that are safe and effective, Advantage or Frontline from your vet only.

NEVER use any sort of pesticide meant for lawns on your pets...and be sure to keep pets away from treated areas for the recommended hous/days listed on the label...it is illegal to use pesticides for any other use than listed on the label!

Courtney, think that they lick themselves a lot. They'd swallow all that. Only use safe products!! You don't want to kill them you want to kill the fleas!

I just want to add (and I held off on this one for a bit), that I think that is a very, very old flea treatment........obviously proven dangerous.

Courtney, myself and others will not in good conscience give you that information, you've been told it is a toxic product, despite what others may have said, used, or applied, the EPA has attempted to get carbaryl products off the market for manufacturers who label it for pet use. Just because it is on the market does NOT mean it is safe, effective or proper for your pets!

If you want to use a proven, safe, effective product to control fleas, use ONLY Advantage or Frontline for your cats, and specifically from your vet only. Your cats are depending on you to do right by them and not take dangerous risks with toxic products.

Just Say No

My degree is in horticluture and I had to take and pass the state pesticide test in order to receive my degree...it is ILLEGAL to use sevin dust or ANY other pesticide in a manner other than it is intended...I do not recall seeing on the Sevin labels that it is safe to use to treat fleas on animals!!

No one will advocate using a pesticide meant for plants to be used on animals...I would not even know what the answer could be...this is not something they tend to teach us in school...they only teach us proper uses
