Well, took Oliver, our beagle to the vet today...
Over the weekend he was rubbing at his eye a bit...I thought that since it was windy Friday, maybe he got some dust in it (we live on a dirt road), and that it would work its way out...
Then I noticed it a bit red, weepy and he does not want to open his eye, and the eyeball is red instead of white, so thought maybe a cat scratched him, or he has an infection in his eye, so better take him in...
The vet could see nothing looking at his eyetoday, but agreed it was very weepy and irritated...he gave me some Triple Antibiotic Ointment with HC to use 3x a day, but if it gets worse, or no improvement by Thursday, he will put Oliver under and take a better look deep into his eye and under his eyelid to see what has happened in there...
Oliver's Eye
Re: Oliver's Eye
it could be, as you saaid, from dirt and dust getting in there...as long as the cornea is not abraised and scratche it should clear in a few day....idid the vet drop fluroscene into the eye....if you have to return, it might be a good idea....good luck
Re: Oliver's Eye
he could not see anything on the cornea, but is thinking something might be under his eyelid that is bothering
However, this afternoon when I went to put the medicine in, I have noticed an improvement in his eye already...hopefully this will work, but if not, Thursday we will find out for sure what it is bothering him...
Or I can see about the fluroscene...
I will let you know the outcome either way...thanks!
