Rags has this thing where she starts opening-closing her mouth over and over quite quickly. Not as fast as a tremble.
While doing this, her nose runs and she can't stop for a couple of minutes.
I hold her and she'll stop in 10-15 seconds.
She has done this in the past, but now it's more frequent. - Usually after licking herself, but not always.
Is this a mild form of epilepsy? or anything i should worry about?
Thanks so much. -Patrick and Rags.

wouldn't guess woith out seeing but i thiny your
diagnosis maybe pretty close to reality...try getting a video of it and take it to you vet and let him look at it, that will be more definite...also check the eyes when this is going on and see if the flutter or stare into space...make note of any other symnptons that take place...foot trembld, stretching etc etc

Thanks Davet, she
she does kind of stare off into space while this happens, but no foot flutter or tremble. She sometimes leaks a little when it happens, though.
Urine leakage is another concern... now I am not so sure if it's from Cushings, old age, or this.
She has started having some DES occassionally... but I am a little concerned giving her the full treatment of DES because of the Cushings. Both are horone related I think, and work in opposite ways?
It seems to not harm her, and I have no camera for video. I guess I could make an appointment and go in again to my Vet. I just didn't want to whine about evry little detail to him.
Is the treatment for epilepsy hard on the dog's system? I don't know a thing about it. And I don't want to put her through more than is absolutely needed.
Thanks again! -Patrick and Rags.

don't worry about the DES, i have had dogs on it for
years with no problem, ie maybe one to two tabs a week...find the lowest effective dose and stick with it...it, like pred is a good safe drug but its over use has problems and this over use has prevented lots of dogs from getting releif for the drug indicated conditions..
