Traci, Debbie, Ron, D~ and all my old cat friends,
RE: Buster behavior
Hello, all of you! I haven't talked to you for ages and I've missed you! I've been trying to complete courses (so I can get a job again!) and health problems, as always. Debbie, I had to get rid of my cell phone (I'm sure you're not sorry about that! ) I hope all of you and your kitty babies are doing well, and I hope you can forgive me. I have Yahoo and MSN email addys and chats now too. I'd love it if someone would say "hi".
Anyway, I'm concerned about Buster's behavior lately. He is our 3-year-old orange tabby (neutered). Lately, he has been trying to mount our two girls, Nikki and Shadow (same age), and is spraying in his litter area (lovely). It almost seems like mating behavior but he has never done it till this year. He is a sweetie cat but has been uncharacteristicly aggressive with my girl kitties for about a month. Having never bred kitties, I don't know anything about when the season ends!
Buster ambushes them, knocks them down and pulls out their fur. I've had luck with the spray bottle but lately it happens when I'm asleep.
Any ideas for me? I've had such good luck with my babies (even the dog!) until now. I know you guys are an encyclopedia of knowledge and I wouldn't ask anywhere else.
Thank you.
Sue and my gang, Nikki, Buster, Shadow and Sparky
Great to see you, Sue!
I think I would definately get him checked by your vet as soon as possible, just on the offchance this might be a UTI brewing, sounds like it could be.
The girls are spayed and he's neutered, so in season doesn't apply here....
Any recent stresses? If it's only agressiveness, chances are, something has changed that he is acting out against. But, first things first, get a vet check (ask for urinalysis too)

Hi Sue...
There are some kitties and doggies, that just because they're neutered, doesn't mean they can't enjoy a fling or two. One family cat we had years ago liked the afghan we had on the ottman and my sister's dog had a fling with a giant sized teddy bear. Yep it was his woman! He may have just discovered a dual use for his little appendage.
I do agree with Traci that a vet check would be a good idea to be on the safe side though.
It's one thing to mount and have some fun but the aggressiveness isn't a good idea. See my links on aggression, etc.
Email me with your addys and chat thingies and we'll caht sometime. My condolences on your cell phone and I hope it had a safe journy into Wireless Heaven!
