I never did see it again :( I look every time I go outside...I have not been able to really look under the porch, due to snow buildup and all...but that melted away mostly today, so I will go and dreadfully look under there tomorrow...and pray I do not find it there...

I look under chairs and tables we have on the screened porch...anyplace a kitty could hide there...but no luck yet...

I wish I knew why he showed up just that once...for a very short while...where he came from, because I had never seen him around...and where he went to...

I know God is watching over him wherever he is...and I just pray that if he did cross the bridge, that he was met by many friends to let him know he was loved by someone...at one time...someplace...

Tambrey,

I guess sometimes we will never know the reasons why things happen or why situations turn out the way they do. I do hope (and pray) that all is okay when you go out looking tomorrow. You have to wonder how kitties can survive the elements the way they do...it been so unbelievably cold and snowy here I can't imagine how any animal living outside can survive, but somehow they do if it's meant to be.

I'll say a pray tonight for you and this little one.

Thanks Lisa...I know he will feel your blessings wherever he is at tonight...

And it is comforting to me to know that when prayers are said for us, we feel a little bit better :)

We had a sickly feral on our porch, no gunky face, but gunky everywhere else and skinny, skinny. She liked people and being petted, though.

We quickly got her spayed at a "free" clinic (and yes, I realize now we probably should have waiting until she felt better) and fed her about three small meals a day until she started gaining weight. She was still a little skinny when she stopped eating (it turns out her gums were infected, not kidney disease like the vet suspected) so they groomed her and we took her back.

She was an old lady, about 13, so we decided to give her to my mother. My cats were terrorizing her and we figured she needed a quieter life. She also gained weight there and her coat became thick and pretty. She's in good shape now, but her gums and teeth still bother her so that has to be watched. My mother named her Lady.

We think she was someone's cat, since she loved being petted and sleeping on the bed

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is you should always help out a stray if possible. They may be salvageable and you'll beat yourself up over it if you don't.

Oh yes...we do help the strays as much as possible...we have 10 in the house right now, plus my mother has two brothers...all ferals or strays at one time or another

I think we have a sign in our front yards that only animals can read, stating that they will find help here :)

I cannot let any suffer if I can get them and do something for them...
But unfortunately, for the few hours this one was on the porch, I could not get near it, nor catch it in the carrier...and it went as quickly and quietly as it came...
All I can do is pray it found safety and comfort somewhere...
