last week , while in the hospital i noticed that they had therapy dogs so i asked if i could see one..so a few hours later they broughrt around the three yar old miniature Boixer whow was supposed to come in and 'cheer me up" so they brought in a 3 year old miniature boxer whose job it was was to get his head up on the bed and let me swcratch its head to "calm me down".Well while there my "room mate
was having a doppler exam on his legs...and a doppler test sound like a toilet flushing every ten or so seconds...
so this three year old new therapy recurite got so scared she ended up under my blanket and i had to scratch her behind the ear to calm her down....it was a riot, she was shaking like a leaf but we both survived the ordeal.... she would not come out from under the blanket untill the doppler was done...I think that dog will need a few more training sessions..also in addition, when i came home the other night I ploped down into bed a fell sound asleep and then came the greatest awakening...My son, who had been keeping Sassie brought her home and this cold wet nose brushed my arm and wiggled till i scratched her.......i will say there is nothing like a dog to lower blood pressure and relax a person...

Re: therapy dogs in hospitals
I'm glad you were there to calm down that therapy dog. I'm sure it's all new and frightening, but she'll get used to the sounds and smells.
Sounds like Sassie really missed you. I know she can't wait until you can go for your walks again.
