Indestructible dog toys?

Post by MA »

Any recommendation of what kind of toys are out there for active dogs? I already have a kong, and I love it, seems to be holding up well. But are there other toys out there that can combat the destructive chewing of dogs? Any specifically that might make noise too?

I got a couple from dogtoys.com......They are canvas animals and the squeaker area is reinforced, as are arms and legs. Very sturdy...the Bassets showed some interest, but I think got frustrated as they are tough. They like the plush that they can rip apart and make my house a mess... :D What kind of a dog do you have?

I have german shepherds, but I do need the information for an article I am writing. I just ordered a giggle ball, and a flexibone. My friend raises australian shepherds so I have a team of dogs at my disposal to test these toys for durability-

As soon as I saw the title, I thought...Kong!...but I see you already have one...but then, even our Great Dane managed to destroy the toughest Kong...when I wrote them to let them know, they wrote back and asked me to please send pictures of the dog along with the Kong so they could see what they were up against to make a tougher one...LOL...

Scooby was such a pussycat and so gentle, but he sure got crazy with his Kong!!...It was the large black one...I noticed he never tore up the large red one, but when that red one got icky looking, we went to get him a new one and the black one was the latest and greatest one at that time...it is the one he devoured!!

We have a beagle now, and he does not even destroy the cat toys...and he loves to toss those miniature cat sized tennis balls all around the house...they are just his size of a ball to play with...he can get it in his mouth, but he cannot choke on it...

***edit added....one of my words got *beeped* out...I guess it is not an acceptable word any more when talking about cats...I will put the words together and see if that helps!!...yep, putting the two words together helped :) ...second paragraph, fifth word, if you count all the words...part of that word was a naughty word, I guess!!

How about garden tractor tires? If you want actual toys- there is a line of dog toys made from tire rubber called Tire Biters. They come in a few different shapes. Also- basketballs and footballs are pretty tough.
