rant, vent, rant, vent ~ Backyard breeders

Post by Tina B and crew »

Egads why are some people so dumb? I just talked to my niece, who is all of 18, getting married next month to an idiot bullrider (and I'm not judging bullriders...just him *snork*), lives in an RV park in a travel trailer and has a dog, which I think is a pitbull. Now my niece asks me if I know anything about red mange...I say "you mean demodectic mange?" She says "I guess...anyway my dog has it and there is suppose to be this guy who can cure it..what do you know about it? I want to breed her"

I think I convinced her that it is not a good idea in the first place, but it is an even worse idea considering the fact that she has demodectic mange!! Then I give her my spiel about how they shouldn't breed anyway, that they should leave that to the professional breeders...because backyard breeders just proliferate the overpopulation just so they can create pups for the buddies. Then she tells me that her fiance (who last I heard was in construction and a bullrider...nothing about being a professional breeder) is a breeder...that's what he does

Lord, some folks shouldn't be allowed to breed (and I'm not talking dogs either!)

Thanks...I needed that :D

Sounds like you should introduce your neice to some other people. .... Send her on a looooonnnnnggggg summer vacation in Europe, far, far away from her current intended. ..... Absence does not always make the heart grow fonder ---- If you get my drift. ..... :-s

Um, just a thought, but if he's a real bullrider, or is on the circuit, he doesn't have time to breed (um, dogs that is). Sounds like he's talking bull to her, sorry Tina.

Another anecdote....

One of the older gentlemen I used to work with, told me that in his youth he wanted to be a Bull Rider... Did the rodeo circuit for 3 years before he had the "Stupidity pounded out of me."

shudders

He's an ameteur bullrider...I heard that he was riding the night of their wedding...and knowing him I believe it :!: He probably breeds to sell to his buddies.

mom paws...wouldn't work in her case...she's got the biggest, darkest, densest blinders on right now and she's not the smartest cookie in the cookie jar I'm afraid to say. Besides, I am not sure I could even pretend to like him [-( (now where's that puking emoticon?)
