It doesn't matter what Traci may or may not be implying...what she says is the truth. All who post on this board love cats, many of us rescue cats and kittens...we know firsthand the problem of cat overpopulation and how hard it is to find homes for these kittens whose births could have been prevented in the first place. I love kittens as well as the next person, probably more than most...I open my home to abandoned litters most of the year. I can honestly tell you that if I could have prevented any of the litters I fostered from being created I darn well would have. Every rescue shelter in my area is overburdened with kittens right now because someone chose not to spay and neuter. I can also tell you that if I had witnessed my cat mating and knew of the possibility that she was pregnant I would have had her at the vet the next day if possible. 10 years ago I would have agreed with you, but now I would rather see a pregnant cat spayed (early on of course) than a litter of kittens euthanized because there just aren't any homes for them. Please don't take this all the wrong way...all of us here have the entire cat populations best interest in mind.

I simply stated that your version of 'an abortion' does not apply to pets.
