At the end of this month, Crystal will be 10 months old and I've been posting her ears up since I got her.
She hates having them up, she is allergic to the adhesive on the tape and her ears get red and irritated.
I have tried almost everything. She is miserable with her ears in tapes. The breeder told me it could take up to 2 yrs. Her own personal dogs (16 of them) are left natural and I am starting to think it's because the ear leather is so thick they have a hard time standing.
I have added gelatin to her food, nothing is helping. Every time I take off the tapes, they are no closer to standing.
I think I had more success when she was younger...they would stand for a few hours and then crash. Now they are sort of curled slightly and off to each side like airplane wings.
My family is telling me she's so cute with her ears that way, but I know how stunning she would look if they would just stand up. I feel like I owe it to her to make that commitment at least until she's a year old and then after that live with the floppy look.
Anybody have any words of encouragement for me. Should I continue posting them or throw in the towel??

patience..they may take a while but some ears never go up and you canpt blame any one...there is a surgical proceedure that can make them stand but that is not fair to the dog...keep massaging and telling said ears to stand up...i don;t think nature ever intended fot the ears to stay up but who knows...just keep doing what your doing and if anyone suggest surgery, tell them to forget it...as i say it may work but it is not and essential thing in the dogs life...yours, maybe, but the dog:no...
