Help for Honey!

Honey has a lump on her back- shoulder area. Vet said no prob just put antiobiotic cream on it as it "leaks" waxy stuff and I was afraid it could get infected...guess is a cyst.
Getting bigger and last night clear fluid and a tiny bit of blood. I put cream on it and is smaller today.
This is my question...I would like to try and dry it out and shrink it..would peroxide, betadine or what be better to apply??? I read about something once that could shrink boils but can't remember what. (Vet keeps checking it and ok, but she said it is pretty solid and she would have to anest. Honey to remove it- a risk as she is 11)
I am open to traditional med and herbal etc....Mom

Ask your vet for panalog ointment (or cream if you wish). Don't know how you can shrink it without antiinflammatory meds. Homeopathics aren't going to resolve this. To soothe the area you can try simple vit E oil if you want.

Did your vet aspirate the fluid and confirm it is only a benign cyst?

Seems like they could do a local anesthetic IF Honey will cooperate - that's what they do in humans. It can be traumatic for dog though - they don't understand why they're being restrained and are, of course, afraid. "Waxy" sounds like a sebaceous cyst. which can occasionally get infected, but usually isn't anything to worry about. Allie has about 8 of them, and will probably have even more as she ages - she's just prone to them.

i'll go with the sebaceous cyst also...that waxy stuff is pretty pathognomic....is tha still a good word guys???

its like what, in my youth, we used to call hickies, iebumps on the skin that cvould be squeeezed out...these cysts can be squeezed out but should not be done because they can rupture in the process and go under the skin...best thing (it they are cysts) to have ethem removed surgically because they become a sourc3e of irritation and then infection...they are not malignant but should be removed.....again this is if they are sebaceous cysts....

now what you guys call zits, we called hickies...never ming the modern interptation....but i forget what we called those things in my yout...course in thsoe days we didn't do things like that....whcwhich means i am forgetteing a lot of ymy youth

Vet is sure it is a subaceous cyst, but Honey is too scared at vet to do anything without anest. I will just keep treating it and watching it. Will ask Vet for panalog- sounds like a good thing to use on it!!Thanks!
