ok- birdie related. This little bird has a nest in our birdhouse...he has the funniest looking eyes...he has white markings over his eyes and you can't see his actual eyes in any picture I've taken. Does anyone know what it is? Probably a common bird, but would like to know...

I know this sounds weird, but his eyes seemed to be closed..could it be a blind bird?? :roll:

A sparrow of some sort? You're right - very odd head markings, tho!

I was looking thru my bird book today, Karen,and that's what I thought, too,,,,BUT- they are found in the US Southwest - and we live in NY?

a non-native species now found throughout the United States, and they kill Bluebirds, Purple Martins and other native songbirds (they've about decimated the native populations in some areas.
