Dog playing

My friend and I both have male dogs, her dog is 1 year old and mine is 10 months old. Whenever they are together they are constantly playing but sometimes it seems like they are fighting more than playing. They've never drawn blood or I've never seen any cuts. When they start getting really intense we break it up and they chill out for a bit. But then they are right at it again. Is this normal for dogs to interact with eachother or should we monitor them more when they are "playing"

it is normal but they are just like kids, you gotta monitor them to avoid injury...they are still basically wild animals ( also like some kids) and get carried away and not realize it...rarely do they hurt each other but occaisionally they will and it is not a good idea to let them go long enought to see what the eventual outcome will be...when you think they are getting carried away...jump in and calm them down with equal attention to each....
