Good morning all! Met a nice lady from our humane society..
...yesterday. She was sitting at a table outside the supermarket with her dog, Titus (a lab/black-and-tan coonhound mix - he was a real sweetie!) She was there giving info about one of their biggest annual fund-raisers. It's called the "Walk and Wag," and it involves people getting pledges and then walking through the country with their dog. They also have a little fair afterward, with various dog experts and vendors. I'm thinking of signing up for it with Mr. Blue. It sounds like a nice way to spend a Saturday morning, and I like donating to them. She saw Mr. Blue's pic, and heard his story, and wants to meet him. She said, as have others, that it was good we adopted him before he went to a shelter. With his heartworm, he wouldn't have been put up for adoption at all. I understand why this has to be, but I'm sure glad we got to him first, too! They're going to have some contests that people and dogs can enter; I think the one Mr. Blue has a good shot at is the "Most Unusual Dog" one. The county sheriff's K-9 unit will be out, and there will also be a bomb-sniffing dog for us to meet. It sounds like a lot of fun. I hate collecting pledges, but I think I'll go for it in this case. Mr. Blue can do the work
that...
sounds like fun and a good thing to do, Mary.
Mr. Blue would make a good ambassador. We met some nice ppl interested in dogs today, too. When you travel with your pup that happens, I find. I think ppl are friendlier.
