Heavy Breathing

Post by Tambrey »

Our Tiglet seems to have stumped the vet we (were) using, and I am going to take her to the vet that I have been taking Yoda and Gremlin to...

Every so often, she will go into bouts where her breathing is very laboured...her sides (including tummy and chest) heave and she seems to have no energy but to lay there...yet an hour or so later, will be up running with the rest of them...only to then again come lay and heave on my lap for a while...almost asthmatic it seems...and her breathing is gravly or raspy when she is like this...

Seems that when she is in antibiotics she is better for a few days, but then it comes back again...

Any ideas on what to ask to test for?...Can cats have asthma?...I think I saw this asked before, but not sure...

Thanks

Is Tiglet a dog or cat...if cat, please post feline questions in the Feline Health forum.

Yes, cats can develop asthma...I would ask your vet for full x-rays, rule out heat-stroke, check heart function.
