i think one of my new kittens has an eye infection

my cat had kittens 12 days ago ive been keeping an eye on each of he kittens and ive noticed thieir eyes have started to open.but one thing concerns me, the smallest kitten has a foggy patch in his eye whitch looks like an eye booger simaler to what humans get, could it be an eye infection or or somthing i shouldnt worrie about? please help!

never had kittens myself, but since you mention it's smaller than the others and you notice some other difference, i would run it by your vet...at least put in a phone call.

I have two cats with the Herpes virus. It can be passed from mother to kitten. In my cats, it was manifested by a cloudy spot (ulcer) on the eyeball. One of my cats also had respiratory problems (runny nose, sneezing, etc)

May want to have your kitty checked for this. Though your kitten may have someting totally diferent.

My cat has the Herpes virus too. His is the ulcer on his eye too, but lately every time he sleeps, when he wakes up there is this dark brown, almost reddish crusty stuff in his eye. I always scoop it out, but its stuck on pretty good. I dunno if thats normal for Herpes. He is on eye drops.
Anyways to the original poster, I'd have a vet take a look at that eye. Could be a number of different things.
