...his new rawhide treats? I gave him a new one, and he was standing by the back door for at least 10 minutes holding it in his mouth, wanting to take it outside to bury it somewhere. I'm wondering if it isn't some ancient wolfy behavior that involves burying whatever can't be consumed on the spot. Since I'm not going to let him take it outside, I'm sure it will end up buried somewhere upstairs. I'm not at work today, so I've got time to think about these canine mysteries I've got a ton of vacation time built up, and it's slowing down enough that I could take a day off. I took Mr. Blue up to our pet supply store, because the manager has said he wanted to meet him. A whole lot of treats somehow ended up coming home with me!
Unfortunately, I also have to deal with some unpleasant tax stuff today. Back in 1999, I finally sold some out-of-state inherited property. It was in a horrible legal mess, but we got it all straightened out. A few days ago, I got a letter from the Idaho State Tax Commission (Idaho is where the property was). They're now wondering about state taxes on the sale, so I have to look up all the old documents, and try to figure out just what it is they think we still owe on this. I know it's not property taxes; all of that was handled prior to the sale. To keep this dog-related, I hadn't done anything about the property for a few years prior to meeting Mr. Blue in the summer of 1998. On our drive home with him, I said to my husband "He's going to need a back yard. I'd better try to sell the Idaho property." Things were so messy that it couldn't be sold until April 1999, but to this day I give credit to Mr. Blue for providing the impetus that finally made me deal with it.
Why is it, do you think, that Mr. Blue always wants to bury

Chablis used to bury her food all over the place. She would one piece in my shoe, another piece under the cushion on the couch, another piece somewhere else and so on. Then, when she would need to have an anesthetic and couldn't eat after 10 pm or whatever it was, I would have to search the house trying to find all the buried pieces. I was very diligent about it, but boy, was she frustrated when she went to find them!
have you checked to see if your husband is burying::
his breakfast...maybe Mr. blue is copycatting...
