I will be able to take her home tomorrow at noon. They closed her up with staples.
How can I get her into my SUV for the way home? Her normal way of getting into the car is that she puts her front paws on the seat and I lift her back end until she's level. She can jump out of it by herself. Is this safe for her to be doing this a day after surgery?
She's like 60 lbs. and I can't totally lift her by myself.

i would let her in the way you have but keep a tight leash on her when getting out, or if concerned aske if your vet if he/she will wrap an ace bandage around her because you are afraid she may just ignore you and jump....either way, a tight leash grip on her is essential

Thanks davet,
When Shelby was spayed years ago, she was much smaller and I could just pick her up. This one is already a full size dog at 6 months old.

I am sure someone in the office would be willing to help you get her in! They always help me, as they know my back is not good...

She did great. It was a much smaller incision than I was expecting. It's only 2" long. She has pain medication for the next 4 days. They weighed her and she is 63 lbs. at 6 months old.
She's large and lovely.
