My vet drives a Porsche

she took one cat out of the arms of a sleeping lady and put it back on the porch when we finished...i don't think the lady ever knew cause she was elderly----bout my age--and probably thought the cat was wandering around...crazy glued the incision so it could hardly be seen.....

I can imagine my next door neighbor lady having that done...I have no idea how many cats she has over there...mostly ferals of couse, but tame enough to come to her porch to eat...

A man bought her property and she can keep her trailer there for a couple more years, and he felt so sorry for these cats last winter, because alot of them had weepy eyes and such, that he went to the vet and got an antibiotic that he could just mix into the food for however many cats ate it, and they all at least got something to help them get better...

Unfortunately, alot of the problems with the ferals around our street is inbreeding...which causes weaknesses of course...and a few years back, we lost ALL of the ferals, which is not good either, since we do live right by a grainery and all have pastures out back...the ferals do keep the mice and rats at bay...
I have talked to the local vet, and he will give me a 10% discount to "mass neuter/spay" but still at $65 for males and $75 for females, it adds up...we need to do something like San Diego does!!!

When you see a vet owing a porsche you have to consider how long it took him to become a vet, how much money he owed, how much his practice cost per day. i how much did he have to take in per day just to keep the place running....Lots of other people have Porches

I'm not seriously upset that he drives a Porsche....it just made a catchy headline for my post.

i didn;'t have a harley and the tatoos but i did make house calls on a 75 cc motocycle....looked like an idiot driving down the street with my little black bag fastened to the back...the more i think of it the more ridiculus i think i looked cause clients would come in a say they saw me riding down township line on that cute little vehicle....

The vets at my clinic are rather steep, but I have to admit they have put the money back into the clinic and not into Porsches or other such vehicles. They have a new ultrasound machine, x-ray machine and endoscope, none of which come cheap.

Mikey had his annual exam this week. I was charged for: dist/parvo titer, mini chemistry panel, urinalysis (I didn't get charged for the cysto), and food allergy panel (we're doing it just to see...don't but too much into it) and got 40% off everything but the food allergy panel where I was charged $20 more than our cost. My bill was $200


BTW, his titers were still >1:5 for both indicating he has good coverage still. He turned 4 in May and got his last DHPP at 4 months old.

I picked my vet's office orginally because they were open to having me come visit and look around anytime they weren't really busy and they had some equipment other places did not have. I thought there boarding facilities were decent.
I have had several different vets when I go there- 2 I have become particularly fond of and really gave me tons of support when my dog died of cancer (after trying to save him with a pricey surgery). They handled the whole thing well, my dog was very comfortable going there even after all he'd been through and the vet took my calls each time I had questions.
They aren't the most expensive, they arent the cheapest.. I dont get yearly fecals or heartworm tests done each year to save money (i had 3 dogs and a cat so bills coudl get high). I have been able to tell them yes or no and not be given a hard time about it. I dont buy frontline or heartworms meds there.

Basically, I dont care what they drive (and after all that schooling I fell they do deserve to have a good income).. just want to know they listen to me and dont treat me like an idiot and take great care of my babies!
