Nice trip today. (Lots of Pics)....

Post by TheSkeptic »

We took Maw Maw out for a ride and to eat and decided to visit our nephew Nathan and Sugar Boy, formerly Sporty. It was a nice and eventful excursion.

Before I continue. I could not post all of the pictures I have. It seems that the picture links on some of the pictures go to an ad for Club Photo prints instead of my pictures. This is the first time that has happened and I have registered a complaint with Club Photo about it. If this does not clear up I will quit club photo, which will probably erase many of hte pics I have posted lately.

Cheryl was thrilled to be reunited with Sugar Boy.

It appeared that Sugar Boy was happy to see her too.

The vet says there is nothing that can be done to restore his sight, but surprisingly it has improved some now that he is getting proper care and food.

They have made a nice paddock with lots of shade for him to spend the day. At night he is housed inside a huge stable.

Image

My neice has been training Sugar Boy and he is now a tractible riding horse. Under her watchful eye, Cheryl got to ride Sugar Boy. I got several pictures of her riding, but I won't bother you with them all. Cheryl did very well considering the last time she rode a horse it lay down on her.

Image

Next I got to ride him. I did very well for not having been on a horse in well over a decade.

Image

I was not prepared for the next rider. It seems someone else was begging off from riding, so Maw Maw decided to show them it was easy. Of course we didn't let her really ride, but led her around by the halter for a short distance. 99 year old ladies do not need to risk falling off of horses. We do have to admit that she had much more exprience with them than anyone else there as she grew up with horses.

Image

Not all were interested in the horses. Some prefered to expand their literary horizons.

Then the two most involved with Sugar Boy proceeded to show us how it was done. First Nathan, who refers to Sugar Boy as Money Pit rode around the paddock.

Image

Then his daughter proceeded to show him by taking Sugar Boy for a real ride out of the paddock and up the road to the fields.

Image

She makes a much prettier picture on the horse than her dad.

Image

When she returned, my sister finally got over her reticence at getting on the horse.

Image

Now to make this all dog related, here is a pic of two of their dogs Missy and Puppy.

Image

And here I wanted to post a picture of Skeeter with Puppy. for those wondering Puppy is called Puppy for the same reason Mr. Dawg is called Mr. Dawg. Also the pics of thier birds will not post. ..

Finally here is Ivory and Pea Pod trying to play in the tall grass in our Back Yard. if it doesn't rain tonight, I will finally get to cut the grass sometime tomorrow.

I know I say this every time you post photos, but everything is so lush and green down there in beautiful Louisiana.
If you're trying to say that wonderful lady on the horse is 99 yrs. old, I cannot believe that. She must tell me where the Fountain of Youth is so I can drink from it.
It looks like you had a really fun weekend!!!

Yep she is 99. It was yesterday and her whole family was there to celebrate it. I forgot the camera at home so no pics. It was quite a crowd with all the grand kids and great grandkids and the two great great grand kids. .....

Darn! I did not get to see any of these pics... would really like to. Don't know how I missed this post itself for 2 weeks... Now I'm afraid to say anything about my picture saving place, as I'm getting ready to try one of my photo-op posts...

Anyway, belated congratulations to Maw Maw and all her family on the 99th!

I don't know why it is showing ads for Club Photo instead of the pics. .... I have a note into Club Photo complaining.

I hadn't been here in a couple of days... glad I remembered to try again, as now I can see the pics. Thank you. A fine sequence - very cheering - makes me feel as though I got to go on the visit too!
