Help! Doggy door problem with new kitten?

Post by Jenny B »

I need some quick help on this! My family has two dogs, and are looking to adopt a kitten. However, since we have a doggy door and no way of keeping the kitten away from it, the adoption center won't let us get our kitty. We wanted to try putting up a baby gate, but they said they could easily climb over it, and my parents don't want us confining the kitten to one room or a crate. However, like I said, unless we find a solution... the agency won't let us adopt.

I'd like to know what others have done about this problem. We can't have our kitty getting outside and running away; yet we have to let our dogs have their door so they can get in and out easily.

I am DESPERATE for suggestions! Any immediate help is appreciated - thanks!

maybe invest in a door that is triggered to open by a collar that only the dogs wear.

look up Staywell Pet Doors online in a search engine such as google.com
They have a variety of electronic and infrared pet doors...good luck!
