The product of extensive development and clinical testing parameters, like the canned formulation, Feline Dissolution Formula Dry is an extremely attractive option for veterinarians to choose in the management of FLUTD due to struvite (magnesium ammonium phosphate). Feline CANNED Dissolution Formula has been specifically designed, in a chunk and gravy format, to add moisture to help dilute the urine and increase frequency of urination. Feline DRY Dissolution Formula features gravy mix. Just add water to the kibble to make a tasty gravy when increased moisture is desired.

This diet has been carefully formulated to provide efficacy, safety and palatability, while adopting many of the added benefits of excellent nutrition incorporated throughout the Medi-Cal® family of diets.

Features of Feline DRY Dissolution Formula

· Scientifically formulated to dissolve struvite stones and crystals
· Dietary urine acidifiers to produce an acidic urine

Feline Dissolution Formula DRY and/or CANNED will typically be fed for a defined period, depending on the individual case. Following successful use of Feline Dissolution Formula, Medi-Cal® offers a number of diets that can be used to help prevent the recurrence of struvite crystals and stones, such as Feline Preventive Formula, Feline Weight Control, Feline Reducing Formula and Feline Mature Formula. Veterinary determination of individual case characteristics will determine which diet is the most appropriate choice.

Dissolution is not recommended for:

Pregnant and lactating queens
Cats less than 12 months of age
Cats with hypertensive disorders associated with heart, kidney and thyroid disease

And for those who may be confused, Medi-cal is the canadian distribution, in North America, the equivalents are IVD's Select Care Formulas. IVD doesn't have their information on their site yet, a rep told me they'll have it up soon.
