We are breeding from our pegigree ragdoll and have noticed that now she has 'pinked up' that she has 8 normal nipples and 1 slightly smaller one! Has anyone heard of this before?

My Cat Has Nine Nipples...
Re: My Cat Has Nine Nipples...
no big whoops, lots of cats ( and other mammals) have supernumeray ones..sometime they function and some times they don't..this is also failrly common in humans, both male and female----no i haven't taken a survey,,,just read about it.

Davet could be right, but you also should get your kitty checked by your vet. Since you never noticed the extra nipple before, you truly need to rule out a possible growth, NEVER ever leave any type of unusual growth undetected/undiagnosed.....better to be safe than sorry. Since you are breeding your cat, it's advisable to have her checked regularly by your vet for any signs of pyometra, uterine infections, mammary growths, etc.
