Older Siamese Cat With Increased Crying

Post by maltbear »

I have a 12 year old female chocolate point siamese who weighs 7.5 pounds. (She's bitty . . .) She has had a wonderful life with an abundance of love, food and shelter. (Gypsy is strickly an indoor cat.) Lately, however, she has begun to cry without provocation. Is she trying to tell me she isn't well? Her last check-up was in March and she had a complete blood workup at that time. Nothing untoward jumped out to my vet. Is Gypsy trying to tell me she's ill?

Thank you for giving me ideas on what, possibly, I might look for. You're right about Siamese being howlers; I enjoy the conversations we have together. :) I appreciate the response!

I wonder if your Siamese could be losing some hearing or vision at her age. It is not uncommon and will make them feel insecure if you are not in the room with them. My Aunt had a Siamese who lost his vision and would cry and howler all the time. Just a suggestion, hope that everything is ok, and it is just conversation. Mona, HOneybun and Chloe 8)
