Since we returned from the fondulac dog show, my guys have been ithcing one by one, i assumed it was the drywall dust from our having been remodeling.
well turns out riley, the pup that was out of morgan and dancer, had fleas, but on further inspection i told her mom, these aint fleas.
they are shaped different though they are sucking blood, they are a white grey color with red legs and tiny like a flea, sluggish, dont move fast.
i am taking them to the vet this morning, the creatures.
so far i have done this.
bathed them in saflea shampoo, it apeared to kill them, it is all natural and safe for most pesky critters like fleas, i also used the ProTical conditioner, leaving a light film of the conditioner in their coats, it is for fleas and bugs.
i am not sure, it did not specify lice.
does anyone know what products will kill them, do they leave eggs in carpet and bedding?
i am bleaching all their blankees,
and most importantly i have a preggy female, that doubtless has them but shows no signs of the itchies.
thanx for any and all help
Help~ Dog Lice!!!
i suspect that these maybe flea larvae, which is an:
intermediat stage of flea development but could be live...most insecticides will kill them and i gather you are adverse to insecticides. so you can use one tablespoon of Pine oil to a gallon of water and pour it all over her then towell dry, but you gotta avoid the genitals and eyes...but then is pine oil a chenmical or not....make sure you follow your vets advise though
thanx davet verdict is that they are lice.
so.....
i was told that any shampoo that kills fleas will kill lice and to shampoo them once a week for four weeks, with each shampoo i will do their bedding, they told me to bomb the house, wont bleach kill anything that is on non carpeted floors?
thanx for any help!
