Shelby had hepatitis in the fall and was on her last legs around the holidays. She was so thin I didn't take her out in public for fear someone would call the authorities on me. She seems to have made a complete recovery and is better than ever. She's going to be 12 in August. I'm not sure what's going on with her, but she is like a new dog lately. She's gained weight and is happy and frisky again. I think she's going to be around for awhile.
We just got her a new black collar with red chili peppers on it. How I love that dog.
..........I'm thrilled about Shelby.........

Amazing recovery...
The vet treated her with 2 courses of antibiotics (she had a UTI along with the hepatitis) in Oct. She was skinny and weak right through the holidays. I started cooking oatmeal and adding it to her food, just to make it appealing to her, and she started putting weight on slowly.
A few people on the Acme board told me to give her Milk Thistle for her liver. I did for about 5 weeks and maybe that actually worked.
The vet told me that it may be the start of a progressive liver disease and her condition may get worse until she would eventually have to be put down, but I think she's going to be with us for awhile.
I have to get a digital camera and get photos of her and figure out how to post them. I'm not that computer savvy, unfortunately.
