I'm so glad you found him a home! I hope he is very happy with his new person to love him.

My only worry was that Basil was so emaciated when I found him. When I had him in to the vet she seemed kind of concerned about it although did not really elaborate any of the possible causes, I assumed it was from starvation. He had a great appetite and was gaining weight again, but last check he is still very skinny in the tummy. I would feel so awful if poor Basil had some illness and she lost him. However, he is full of energy and happy as a clam on last check with the lady that adoped him, so I hope he fattens up.

It's always a gamble when you adopt an older dog. Hubbie and I were talking about it yesterday, and we figured that we had spent more on Angel than we had on all of the other 4 dogs we've had combined. Hopefully, Basil doesn't have any severe health problems, but if he really is 10 or older, it's likely that he will develop some eventually. All you can do is hope his new owner understands that since she adopted what she knew was an oldster. Wishing him all the best!
