I think I'm losing my kitty. She is 19 yrs. old. A very, very long=haired tortie. Over the last 2 wks she has had 2 seizures that we know of - probably more when we're not there. She is very, very thin, but she does eat, drink, poop and pee. She just doesn't act like herself. Today at lunch she just kinda rambled around the living room - jumped on my lap - if I tried to pet her she moved - just sat there looking at me. We talked and talked. Then she would jump off - roam around the room - making a soft guteral meowing - jump back up and do the same thing over and over. I've talked to our vet and since Annie is soooooo uptight when she goes to the vet - I'm afraid it would push her over the edge. He was very sweet and said he could do blood work and urinalysis to see what was going on - but would it make a difference. She was 19 and the symptoms I explained were very normal. I just am so afraid I'm losing her soon. Can anyone help???
Thanks!

Re: Am losing my kitty
this is when tough decisions have to be made, but probably not for a while but again...there are not many medications that can help situations like this..a urinalysis might help and it usually is not real difficult via paracentesis, ie a bladder puncture...cats take this very well but your cat may be different....i have a paper, as does everyone els on this board as to when to make the difficult decision...if you feel it is getting that time ask to have this posted...it might help but i think at tha age of 19 you have to decide what is best fot the cat...not best for you.....

Re: Am losing my kitty
Is there any chance your vet could make a house call? Or maybe you could find one that does, just for the bloodwork and urinalysis. That way she won't be freaked out by going to the vets. Unfortunately, there's no real way of telling just what is ailing her without some diagnostics.
I hope something can be done to help her.
Please keep us posted, ok?
