Flea and Tick Products

Post by PP.Mom »

I have a 11 1/2 year old chow who was dignosed with kidney trouble last month. He is on a low protien diet and seems to be doing well. I am going to have to get frontline or advantage for fleas and ticks. Would there be a problem with him having kidney trouble or would either one be okay to use. I can call the vet. in the morning and ask but thought I might be able to get some info here before morning. Thanks

I'm not sure how these products would/could affect the kidneys. You'd certainly want your vet to know about the product you use. Hope your dog continues to do well!

I talked to the vet. this morning and she said Frontline would be the best for him. Although I don't post here a lot I enjoy coming and reading and I feel like I know a lot of you all ready. I know Mr. Blue is a very luckly dog. I have a 2 year old pomeranian(Penny) and a 9 year old poodle mix,(Pepper) Yogi my chow and a 13 year old solid white cat(Snow)

I used to ask questions on the old board on Acme.
