HOW can a short-haired dog have so much to shed??...msg
It's time for a goofy Mr. Blue story, I think. He has, of course, been shedding quite a bit over the last month. I took him outside today with his "Love Glove." It sounds obscene, but it's a glove I put on with little soft plastic nubs to rub him down with. I must have gotten off enough fur for 7 bird nests! If I took him to the vet's office for a weigh-in, I'm sure they'd worry about how he could have lost so much weight so fast He was loving this; I tried 3 times to stop and take the glove off, but he sidled up to me with this pleading look on his face, so I kept rubbing. My husband was working on cleaning off our deck, and was going to sweep it off, so we had to move everything off the deck. This included Mr. Blue's outside water bowl. I put it off the side of the deck, him prancing anxiously next to me the whole way. When I put the bowl down, he bent down for a drink, his front legs off the deck, head bent down to the bowl, but rear legs still up on the deck! He loves having an outside water bowl, and we can't quite figure out why. He's got an indoor dish, changed 2x/day. That's fine, but his outside dish really seems to thrill him. Have I ever mentioned to all of you that I've got a really goofy dog living with me?

So I've got a discriminating dog with good taste, not a.....
...goofball? I don't know, Traci...it sounds good but you should have seen him last night drinking his water half on, half off the deck. I wish I could have taken a pic of it!

Scribs is weird...
She seems to shed very gradually, you never see much around. Or maybe our house is so messy we never notice?
Mary-
Honey loves water on the deck, too...sometimes she puts her paws in it and kinda keeps dipping them..like a cat. One thing I could never figure out- how come a dog wants you to keep changing the water in their dish in the house, but will drink out of a mud puddle in a minute
I've heard that excess shedding sometimes
means that they are lacking supplements like omega fatty acids. Our two Goldens used to shed a ton now we give them a fatty acid supplement with their breakfast and dinner and its really made a difference!
Good luck with Mr Blue!
