Older kittens nursing?

Post by Catnap »

My mom found a mother cat who had 5 kittens back in September. This makes the kittens almost 7 months old. Does anyone here find it odd or funny that the kittens still nurse AND she lets them?? When do they normally stop this behavior??

For those not familiar with davet-ism.....noastitis symptons means mastitis symptoms. (sorry, Davet  )

Here's a good one for you - True Story! My mommy cat, Miss Kitty, nursed her baby, Poopie, for 2 years. She stopped on Poopie's 2nd birthday to the day. Obviously there was no milk as Miss Kitty was fixed, but Poopie loved to cuddle up with her mommy and nurse (she did it at night). Miss Kitty is an especially mellow, sweet kitty and a truly good mommy! She was an inspiration to all of us. By the way, our vet told us it was just out of habit and nothing to worry.
