hiccups

Post by lola »

My kitten sometimes gets the hiccups after she eats. They don't last long. Is this normal? I've never noticed it in other cats. Could it be that she eats fast?

does it seem more like she is about to cough up a hairball? if so, i would agree that eating too fast may be the problem.

one of my cats does this every once in a while (did so yesterday actually) and i helped him out by giving small amounts when he was hungry as to not eat too much...after a few days of that, he got the picture....backsliding is in his nature though :cat:.

Josie did this when we started her on a new food. She liked it so much, she would gobble it up and then she'd get the hiccups. Since, she's slowed it down. I'd say that's the problem, especially since it's a little kitten.

Our 11 week old kitten, Mollie does this just after she eats sometimes too, and, as you say, they don't last long.

It's so cute! And obviously she enjoys the food we give her! :)
