she is a stinker bug! sounds like she getting around though.

if it were me, i would simply approach her and stop...let her make the next move be it rubbing up on you or turning away....basically, you move closer so contact is easier for her but allow her to decide if its ok.

and uh, no name? the following movie quote came to mind.

"I'm not Holly. I'm not Lulamae either. I don't know who I am. I'm like Cat here. We're a couple of no-name slobs. We belong to nobody and nobody belongs to us. We don't even belong to each other."

i'd suggest holly.

Hi Jason

Not having very good luck with Greta(you are probably too young to remember Greta Garbo..she just "vanted to be alone") Since last Thursday I have only seen her once. And she was on the run then. She shows no interest in being seen at any time. She is eating and using her box and getting water, but I tried petting her last Friday and she just endured it and immediately ran for cover.
I guess more patience is called for.

Hope you had a good week-end.

yep, thats the ticket....the eating and movement of waste is basic and most important...good to hear she gets around still.

in a day or so...you might want to try small amounts of tuna (from water not oil) on a paper plate....sit a little bit away from it and let her eat in front of you ....might need to put small amounts out so she can eat it alone first....tapping noise on the can to get her used to the "treat".

Good News!! she followed the tuna trail last night. During the night I felt her jump on my bed. she got down when I got up to take some meds but returned after lights out and cuddled up against the back of my leg for the rest of the night! I was stunned. I think she is going to be fine!
Thanks for all your help and encouragement!

i don't know if you've tried yet, but it worked for me before... try to play with the cat- with toys. catnip, toy mice, bells--those laser pens are usually irresistable. even if he only comes out to investigate for a little while, at least he came out, so maybe next time he will want to actually play a little while. just a thought, hope it helps :)

Hi ..just a little update on Greta. She has come around completely thanks to your advice and being patient. she is the sweetest natured little thing you could want . I have "taught" her to play! I don't think anyone had ever played with her!! We are best buds now and I think she is pretty happy!!
Thanks for all the kind advice and interest!
