My cat, Sati, is only just over 3 yrs old. She has had bloody urine going on for 5 weeks. She's been to the vet twice- blood tests, urinalysis, xrays, 2 weeks of antibiotics (Baytril), and $400 dollars later, she's still got blood in her urine. When it first happened, she was severely dehydrated and lathargic. She's doing much better in those aspects, yet she still sleeps a lot and frequents the litter box. There are a few drops of blood around my house, not bright red but watered down pinkinsh red. The poor thing has lost some weight and is sort of boney. The doc seems to think nothing of it. She's an indoor only cat, has not gotten into anything, and none of my other 6 cats are sick.
Any suggestions???
Bloody Urine....
Re: Bloody Urine....
Hi,
Well, I cannot tell you what it could be that is wrong, but I can tell you for sure that if your vet seems to think nothing of it, then you need to get your cat to another vet. A good vet is always willing to admit when they don't know what to do, and to suggest that you see a specialist. You don't just let things go simply because you don't know the answer! Has your vet given you any type of explanation? There is something very wrong with your cat, and it must be diagnosed and treated properly right away! I'm so sorry that you have spent so much time and money so far with no real answers, but you must pursue this further. Please get to another vet right away, preferably a feline-only vet, but I would also consider an internal medicine specialist.
