FUNGAL INFECTION
Re: FUNGAL INFECTION
Interesting, we use sheep blood agar for most of our testing, but the agars are about the same. If the other two are anaerobic agars, you apparently didn't set any specific fungal media. While the M.canis (and other fungi) will grow on the media you mentioned, the bacteria may grow faster and overwhelm the system. I personally like IMA (Inhibitory Mold Agar) when testing a specimen for dermatophytes that is likely to be mixed with commensal bacteria. Do you have any media available to you that will select for fungi while inhibiting the bacteria?

Re: FUNGAL INFECTION
M.canis should grow on the Sabaurauds, but if bacteria also grow on it, it could be suppressed. Do you use a formula that contains antibacterials? We use Sabaurauds-Dextrose without antibiotics, and Staph as well as many other bacteria will grow on it, often preventing the fungus from growing. (We use 3 or 4 fungal different fungal media, Sabaurauds is one of them). If you use a formula that contains antimicrobials, it should allow the dermatophyte to grow.

Re: FUNGAL INFECTION
If I were you, I'd call the groomer and ask first. I suspect they will not want you to bring him in until the infection has cleared up, but it won't hurt to ask.
