Hi Christine,

I've been reading the posts on Jerry along the way. I'm so glad to hear he is doing well on and the way to complete recovery...poor little guy...he seems to have gone through so much lately...

BTW--did the vets determine whether it was congential or trauma related....

I'm keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers...

Lisa,

Regarding Jerry's condition being congenital or not...Honestly, my vet never mentioned post surgery whether it seemed to be congenital or trauma related, and I was just so relieved to have him back, I didn't ask her. Looking back, it could be trauma related, and he just handled whatever trauma came upon him really well. Jerry doesn't seem to let pain affect him, as I've learned watching him recover from surgery (I can barely climb onto my counters and I'm pretty healthy, and yet only a couple of days after surgery Jerry would happily jump everywhere, if only we would let him). It's possible that during the couple of times he escaped home, he may have gotten into a mishap, maybe climbing into a spot a little too high and jumping or falling too far down.

I planned on calling the vet tomorrow just to let her know how well he is doing. I'll try to remember to ask her what she thinks.

Christine (and Jerry too)
