Goodness...seems like it's been ages since I've posted here!! Just wanted to stop in and say hello. We are all doing fine. Frodo is in much better spirits since having her ears flushed but she did have a bout with hairballs this week that caused us to use up a whole roll of papertowels it seems
Finally over that too...usually this means the fleas are getting bad again and she's licking excessivly due to flea allergies. An application of Advantage will handle that.
Gizmo is still his usually old mean "I hate willow" self. Although I re-arranged the living room and for some reason he seemed to calm down...until I went out of town for a week and he got mad at me for that. Now that I've been back he's calmed down again. I guess he likes the new furniture arrangement
Khanada had a upper respiratory infection a few weeks back..but some Baytril and colostrum handled it...it was mostly in her eyes but she had some sneezing. She's still our sweet little "nada nada"
Willow has become even more attached to me it seems...I think that's a big part of Gizmo's problem...what's a kitty mom to do?? My hubby said when I was out of town Willow would not settle down at night in the bedroom...but when I'm here she settles down right away...she's velcroed to my leg most of the time..but only my leg!!
Wicket is still with us...I have a friend who might consider taking her but it would be a few months before she can. She's moving and would want to wait until she's settled in. I agree wholeheartedly. Wicket is still ever into trouble...she knocked our iron off the top of the refrigerator this morning and busted it She is mesmerized by the string that hangs on the celing fan and loves us to pick her up to play with it...so I decided to tie a longer string to it and tied a ring at the bottom to weigh it down so she could bat at it...well she just discovered that she can pull it and turn the fan on!! You should have seen her face!! LOL
One of our kitties at work, Batman, disappeared. We are hoping that someone took him in. Red is the only one left right now...but he misses Batman I think. One of my co-workers has talked about taking him home with her..fingers crossed.
That's an update of my life...hello to all on the board!! Sorry I don't get around much lately, but life has kept me busy. (((hugs to all and kitties too!!))))

Tina, that string on the celing fan doesn't sound safe. You never know just how well-secured (or not secured) those things are, I wouldn't take chances with a kitty at the end of the string pulling weight on it. JMO.

Re: catching up with me and my kitties
to be perfectly safe, id agree...however i dont believe much would happen if that string (or chain) were to come out. you would have to replace the switch (or open it up and reattach if your lucky). the worse i can imagine would be if the string came loose (broke) then your kitties would have a sinker on a string to get into more potential trouble with.Traci wrote:Tina, that string on the celing fan doesn't sound safe.
thanks for all the updates, hope batman shows up soon.

Re: catching up with me and my kitties
Glad to hear things are going relatively well on the home front! I hope too that Batman has been taken in by someone and is living a great life!
And as much as I do agree with the others about the ceiling fan string, I have even more of a vested interest on why it's a no-no, LOL! Some years back on Christmas day, while out, I was burglarized. Horrible feeling knowing someone has been through your stuff and has taken some of it. I came home from work late one night and thought I was burglarized again because the light in the spare room was on. I never put the light on in there because the ceiling light with the string hasn't been working for a couple of years and the switch on the lamp I was using broke and it had to be manually plugged in. The hall light is usually enough for anything I would need to be doing in there anyway, so I knew I hadn't turned on any lights! I was in panic mode and couldn't see anything missing or touched. Searched room to room and eventually gravitated back to the spare room. Standing there looking around again, I heard some thumping behind me. I turned around and there was Razzeratz jumping up to get the light string, LOL! I couldn't get that stupid light to go on but he managed!

You know...I didn't even think about that...we were looking to see if there was somewhere else we could hang it from for her...she needs something to keep her out of trouble. I'll just make sure that it's only down when we are in the room, otherwise I'll keep it tied up out of her reach
