Congested Cat

Post by PurrSnickety »

Hello,
Very confused owner here. I have had cats all my life and I just adopted a 2 year old Hemmingway from an older couple. After two days of owning him he started getting runny, bloody noses and he sneezes ALOT! I was told to give him saline drops. I have been treating him every night with the drops. Now he is so congested he can't even breathe out of his nose and he is wheezing. Could this be a cold? Or an allergy? Is there anything I can do to help him until I can get him into the vets? Ive never had a cat do this before!!!

could be any or allof the above...you will have to hve your vet or some vet to look up in the nasal passage from the front or the back..if nothing is seen from the front view then it will require anesthesia to place a mirror and look from the pharynx, ie a dental mirror placed in back of the throat to see what is up there...it sounds like it could be a pretty big probblem....get it checked again with a reverse look up
