We need to get a cat flap... We just can't take it anymore... I don't think either of us has had a good nights sleep since we got ou first cat... So we've finally decided to get a cat flap.
I've looked on the net but i can only seem to find the very complicated ones that are obviously for a door that leads to the outside... We just need one that leads from the bedroom to outside the bedroom. So i guess we don't need a magnetic one or one that can lock...
Does anyone know where i can find one of these? Just a basic flappy one that swings and doesn't make any loud or strange noises that might scare the cats off... and that doesn't have a spring? And that is easy to install...
Where do we find a basic flap?
Re: Where do we find a basic flap?

nah, that wont last for long in most situationsdavet wrote:howq bout just a flap of rug hung over the door hole???
i chose the one mentioned above because of the security feature of closing and locking when i wanted to (extended leave).
you want to be sure to size it correctly, only needs to be as big as required for your cat to enter/exit.
a recently (semi-local) story around here was that of an intruder getting into a house at night and physically violated a resident...its not common, but keep in mind that these doors leave your house open and need to be sized not only for your pet but also for your safety.
i have the small/medium dual flap in white with security insert that locks in place and the hole is not big enough for a person to fit through, installation was roughly 1.5 hours. it seals well after they pass through it. after shipping, it was $150.00.
sorry if it sounds like im a rep for the company, i did a couple months of research before i bought it. good luck with whatever you choose.
Well i looked at the site, and you see the thing is that it's an indoor cat flap, leading from our bedroom to the corridor and the kitty litter which is also in the apartment. I guess that means we don't really have to worry about intruders... So, we just need a basic flappy thing. And on top of that, the hale pet door is like 100usd!! that's practically 400ringgit malaysia excluding the postage... For that amount i could probably install one if those shopping mall sensor doorsjason wrote: a recently (semi-local) story around here was that of an intruder getting into a house at night and physically violated a resident...its not common, but keep in mind that these doors leave your house open and need to be sized not only for your pet but also for your safety.
I found one on ebay by petsafe. If they're out of stock we might just try the rug over a hole in the door...

That's the one we're getting. Luckily we won't have to order it iver the net as a local pet chain called 'pets wonderland' stocks it. So... some day in the near future we'll be able to sleep past six am again... YAHOO!
