I feel so helpless, my poor Rosie has suddenly become very sick and is getting sicker. I know you must be thinking..... TAKE HER TO THE VET!
I wouldn't hesitate for a second, IF, I had the money to pay for it, which I don't. So maybe somebody out there can give me some advice.
Aprox 2 weeks ago Rosie came into heat for her first time,( which may not have anything to do with her current problem, I really just don't know) Then about a week ago Rosie came in and I noticed her eye looked like it was irritated. By the next day her eye had gotten really bad, it doesn't look as if anything is draining out. It almost looks like the very inner corner of her eye (like the area where tear ducts are located) is gradually moving and covering the surface of her eye and it is very red. Then yesterday she began making a sneezing sound, this too has quickly became much worse and now just tonight her breathing has started to sound just awful, a gurgling sound. She hasn't been eating very much, but has at least eaten.
If anybody has any clue as to what may be causing all of this. PLEASE reply asap. I feel just horrible, I am a firm believer that if a person is going to have pets, then they should make sure those pets are well cared for, otherwise don't have them. If I had any money at all, Rosie would have been to the vet the minute I noticed something wrong. I am recently disabled and currently waiting for my Social Security to start. My father has been paying almost all of my bills, and the reason I am explaining all of this is I just feel so terribly quilty and I don't want anybody to think that I am cruel and don't deserve to have pets.
I also want to add that I do live up in the mountians and was wondering if maybe Rosie could have come into contact with something in the woods?
My poor Rosie, what can I do?

Re: My poor Rosie, what can I do?
at first i though it was a third eye lid problem and then it appeared as an allergy, and then it appeared as pneumonia...i can't and i don't think anyone can offer you a home based solution other then keep her hydrated with as much water as she will take and as much food as she will take to keep up her resistance...i can think of no home treatment that you might give to cover these symptons....just wish you good luck and hope it works out OK

Unfortunately, even if we could provide insight, only your VET can determine this for certain and only he can treat your kitty effectively. What is most concerning is your description of kitty's breathing, gurgling sounds can indicate serious lung problems, as Davet mentioned, pneumonia, but if she were allowed outdoors, there are various possiblities of a traumatic incident (dog attack or hit by car, lungs could be punctured, fluid or blood entering lungs, etc)
Please, do whatever you can to get funds for a vet exam immediately....ask to borrow a credit card from a friend or family member, leave a post-dated check, ask to make payment arrangements, whatever is necessary. Don't put your kitty at risk here.
