> to find the identity of the sub..But in the program they showed how
> two of the divers died.A father and son team of expert divers.both
> died from the bends. These were the husband and son of my scuba diving
> daughter and son in law.they knew most of the divers in the search
> and fortunately did not go on the dive that I know of.they are still
> best friends with the wife and mother who now lives in Florida..incidently the dive was about 225 feet...i been down to 125 but anything more than that is dangerous and complicated.

. You are accurate in your statment. Scott and
I are not trained to do that dive, nor do we have the experience so we would never ever do anything like that

I think I have the relationships sorted out. ..

Tragic incident, but that is a VERY DEEP dive with lots of pressure.

Lets see, .052 * 9.0 * 225 = 105.3 psi

What happened was the son was determined to find the captains log. If he found this, they could find out the name of the sub. So he was digging around and hit an old life boat. The life boat inflated and pinned him. He panicked and started thrashing and screaming. His father went in to get him, they smashed their way out the side of the sub and the son darted to the surface. The father followed trying to get him under control. By the time they hit the surface, it was too late. The father died on the boat and the son died 6 hours later in a hyperbaric chamber in NY. A friend wrote a book about it called The Last Dive. The whole thing was pretty horrific.
