Hello all! Here's a poll for you on dogs and weather
prompted by the weird Michigan weather we've been having. On Thursday, it was sunny and close to 50 degrees, absolutely beautiful! Then we had rain all day yesterday, followed by snow and really strong winds through this morning. I thought of this poll because Mr. Blue hates rain, but I think he hates strong cold wind even more; with ears the size of his, I call him "Airplane puppy" getting ready for take off

As we can't vote twice, I voted for one (Strong wind), and here is the answer for the other one:
All of the above; my dog is demanding an indoor bathroom!
For those who know my guys, I wonder if you can guess which one is which.

I had to answer rain - I don't think any of them have ever seen snow, so I couldn't put that one. If they had, I suspect snow would have been the better answer.
Mine love the wind - sheltie noses go straight up trying to gather in all the smells. Their fur blows around wildly, and of course they have to shake to get it all back in place once they come back inside. Now, if they had to deal with the supper-cold north wind like you get in Michigan, they might not like that, but I suspect with all their fur, they'd be warm enough and still want to take-in those smells!
As for the indoor bathroom. Allie already thinks she has one in our foyer, and Angel will go in the main bathroom if she absolutely can't wait. So, I don't think that's the correct answer either.

My dogs hate rain. Pete will hold it for days to avoid going out in rain. They like strong wind. They love to face the wind and squint their eyes. As for the bathroom indoors, they have one, it's called the basement. We live in the woods so we don't have gutters. When it rains, sheets of water pour down in front of the doggie door. Why try to go through that when you can poop in the comforts of your home?

Mary- we must be in the same weather pattern or lattitude or something.
We have had same weather- wind has been terrible last night and even today a bit. Honey hates rain and esp. thunder and lightning...that sends her into panic mode. She is getting used to the snow- but I gotta tell you- both her and I have super cabin fever! WE WANT SPRING!

Hi Mary,
I voted none of the above earlier. My new girl doesn't care, she wants to get out and romp around, particularly if there's snow..she loves it! She's the first dog I've owned that doesn't hate wind snow or rain, so I'm hoping she likes the water and will enjoy a swim in the lake. The only thing that bothers her, and any other dog, is sub-zero temps with a big windchill when there's snow and ice on the ground, which is so cold it bothers the paws, and she will start holding them up, and have difficulty walking. Had several of those days..ugh!
Here's a link to Sasha's page (all photos.) I adopted her on 1/5 after getting a call about her needing a home from my ACO. I had no plans to get a new companion until spring. Figured I would take a break from freezing my butt off every winter LOL The first pic is one I took the day I brought her home. That was the last time I saw the grass in my yard, as the weather went downhill big time, after that day.
