The vets are optimistic he'll adapt and be okay, and I've heard of cats that bite their tongues off during seizures and are alright, so I'm just looking for some feedback from anyone who's experienced a glossectomy, or can forwaard me to more specific sites or boards. Thank you!no tongue!

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about cats living without there tongues. Our's had a fibrosarcoma on it and the whole tongue had to be removed The vets are optimistic he'll adapt and be okay, and I've heard of cats that bite their tongues off during seizures and are alright, so I'm just looking for some feedback from anyone who's experienced a glossectomy, or can forwaard me to more specific sites or boards. Our cat just had half of his tongue removed! (glossectomy)
i will admit/warn ahead of time, the end result in the above was not what any of us were hoping for...but with regards to partial tongue removal, you should find some tips there.
