Foxy came to live with us last night
Foxy came to live with us last night
She's a real sweetie - still a bit out of sorts, but doing very well all things considered. She and Allie had a couple of altercations last night- Foxy tried to make friends (very gently, correct and submissive posturing) and Allie came back with an angry, in-your-face attitude. I was close enough the first time to let her know it was unacceptable with a quick "smack" (one finger to the muzzle - not too hard, and a scowl). The second time, I was too far away, but she got they message. All is OK so far today except for the dining room curtains. I had to leave to run some errands, and apparently that upset Foxy. I gues she jumped up to the window to try to see me and pulled down the curtains. No harm, no foul, they are on a tension rod so they went right back up without any problems. She's been trying to get Angel to play. Angel's idea of playing is lying down and "head wrestling" (she is VERY protective of her hips), plus she's only 3 days post-op. Foxy doesn't "get it" yet. She will have more fun playing with Allie once Allie get over her jealousy. The biggest problem I've seen so far is that Foxy is used to free feeding and nibbles. Mine inhale their food as soon as it's put down. I can't leave Foxy's food down or the other two will eat it before she gets a chance.
She's very camera-shy - I guess she doesn't like the flash. This is the best photo I could get:

She's beautiful, k9Karen! I hope the others get used to her and make friends quickly. I'm so glad you were there and able to take her home!

She's beautiful Karen. Bet the 2 of them will soon be friends. Honey was in good form tonight.. she is a goof-ball and loves to play and be teased..a very fun pup. She has a little (Yorkie) pen-pal. A friend's mother owns the dog - Jack. She gets pictures and cards from him...they even exchanged Valentine toys. He is her little stud-muffin.

How pretty, is she a sheltie? They are so dainty
Re: Foxy came to live with us last night
Yep, sheltie - almost 3 years old. My other 2 are shelties too. Foxy makes Sheltie #5 in my life. All my furbabies: Leah: April 1975 - Nov 1989, Mickey: July 1987 - October 2003, Allie, now 5 1/2 and Angel, a rescue of unknown age (probably around 10).Cindy wrote:How pretty, is she a sheltie? As for being dainty - this one is a horse. She's almost a small collie in size and overweight. Angel is "normal" size, but very long-bodied. Allie is tiny - either right at or just under the breed minimum. Foxy is very well mannered and sweet, but I wouldn't call her 'dainty'.
