Bleach

Post by oscar »

I clean my cats litter tray with bleach and cloth which i rinse thoroughly afterwards. My cat can smell the bleach and goes in search of the cloth afterwards. He loves being stroked as he can smell it on my fingers.

I just wondered why he is obsessed with it and if rinsed bleach is bad for him as he will often find the cloth and roll around on it.

I look forward to ur replies.

perhaps its because the odor is so stong yet not offensive to him.

bleach is of course toxic, so be sure the actual product does not come into contact with your cat in any way. the fumes are probably not a good thing long term either.

clorox's website recommends 3/4 cup per gallon of water fir cleaning litter boxes, let stand for 5 minutes and rinse all of it out and allow to dry completely before reuse.

I guess I just have an odd cat then..he doesnt like catnip..just loves bleach!
The cloth is always rinsed out and the real bleach never comes in contact with him.
