re bugs in the feed::
the mostc common one is the Mediterranean flour moth and are a nusince in the millsby spreadingwebs which can clog upmachinery....are easily killedby refrigeration (or leaving the dried foodor grain out doors in freexing weather).. there were several more in my book (ninety-nine More Maggots, mites and munchers" by May berenbaum---she has two books out and obviously this is the second...but they are harmless and are edible..i talked to guys who were POWs of the Japs who would eat them wiggling or not...again harmless and good protein and it is not a problem of sanitation because to keep them out of feed 100 % would require processes that would destroy the grain or add insecticides..don;t be surprised if you ever see them in your dried breakfast cereal or in bird seed.....very common and no problem except for the esthetics..
