Update for Traci
I really appreciate your help the other day when I posted my concerns about my new kitten. She is eating really good now,she is eating canned and dry kitten food and drinking water good.she is starting to be more curious now,she climbs out from under the bathroom door and climbs on my bed to sleep with me..she is starting to be more social, still isnt playing but certainly seems to be more adjusted...just wanted to update you and say thanks for your help
Re: Update for Traci
I'm sorry I just read the post about not posting a new topic for an update, sorry
Re: Update for Traci
Glad to hear this, thank you so much for the update...
Alittle concerned with your description of her crawling out from underneath the door...can you leave that door open for her now, you don't want her getting stuck or injured.

Re: Update for Traci
It has a big gap under it or I wouldnt let her do it For some reason our bathroom doors all have big gaps at the bottoms of them. When I am not here or I'm asleep,I leave the door open and close my bedroom door so my other cats cant get her,I think she is still too timid to play, when I roll up a piece of paper or show her a cat toy,she acts like it scares her and she backs up..she is coming out socially more though,so I'm feeling a little better about her
Re: Update for Traci
Hang in there and just give it alittle more time...she will become more curious by the day.
It might not be a bad idea to slowly introduce her to the other cats now, just do it slowly. Expect some hissing and growling and do of course supervise the introductions, but your little one might do better if she is introduced to the others...With my little ones, somehow it makes them feel better to have an older kitty to bond with, 'show them the way'. This might take a couple weeks for everyone to feel comfortable with one another, and this will be normal, but since your baby is only 8 weeks old, she might actually enjoy getting to know her older siblings right now.
As for toys, make them small, maybe furry mice, or a small stuffed animal...when she starts to feel more secure in her environment, she will become more interested in her toys. At this point, she is still getting used to you as well, just take everything slow.

your advice has been great!!! She is starting to play and it is so cute!!! We got her some of the small jingle balls and furry mice and she is playing not only with them, but with balls of papers,my back! etc...My other cats are slowly starting to warm up her.I only allow them a few minutes with her, with me right there, one of my toms first growled but then starting licking her little head...I love cats so much and thank you for this great message board..take care..and my new kitty Endora thanks you
