Help please, really worried about my kitty. (sorry long post

Hi there,
I have a 17 month tom, since I had from 5 weeks old. He has had all his vacs, he has been done, and is microchipped and he is indoor/outdoor cat, he goes out during the day if he wants, but he stays in alnight.

Last year he started limping, and then within a couple of days he went from limping to not being able to move at all. We took him to vets and they gave him antinflammtorys and antibiotics, but no diagnosis. he got better, but since that time I noticed every time he lands from a jump he will make a noise. I just put it down to his personality. 2 weeks back again, he starts limping. we go to the vet and get shot of antiflam and antibiotic and a course of antibiotic. this didnt really clear up his limp. although the shot seemed to have helped for a couple of days. Again no diagnosis. he got worse and temperature up too. He was taken into hospital a couple of days ago and they did all the tests, put him out and did x-rays and drawn a blank. I said to them, could it be arthritis, but they dont think so. They have discharged him home, with a course of antibiotics and want to see him again next week. He is still limping. wont eat well, and they didnt give him antiinflamatory at all. They said something about maybe there is bacteria in his blood that needs long term antibiotics..but basically my lil baby is limping and not well and nobody knows why..please help, Im so worried all the time about him. Does anyone know what is might be?

Take him to a NEW vet promptly. Your current vet probably isn't looking hard enough.

Ask the new vet to rule out patellar luxation, a small fracture that didn't heal properly, or a compressed nerve somewhere. I can't believe this has gone on this long without even an idea from your vet.

What did your vet mean by "bacteria in the blood"? If he thought there was a bacterial infection somewhere, a CBC would have been helpful. If he thought there was a viral disease going on, he should have opted for a feline serology or fungal serology (sent to outside lab). How much above normal was kitty's temperature this time, and is that resolved now?

Please get your kitty to a new vet for a second opinion, your current vet can fax kitty's health records to the new vet of your choice.
