sheathing of nail barely grown in pad

Post by Bea »

I just noticed my cats thumb nail the sheating is barely in her pad. Is it worth myself cutting it and pulling end out of her pad or is it a surgical procedure?? Her other nails are fine its just this one.

don't quite understand your terminaology....do you mean the nail is curling aroung and about to go into the pad???if this is the situation and it hasn't gone into the pad then clip it....if the sheathing, and i suspect you mean the corium or covering layer is being released from the base of thenail then it should be vet removeved..can you clairfy...i'm a little dense tonight after the Eaglee loss..

nail has gotta be cut....if she will let you then do it at home and put some bacteine or whatever where the toe has gone into the pad...if you can't do it get it done cause it can infect really bad
