Aspirin

Post by DeVon »

I know the dosage on aspirin for all my dogs for emergencies, but can't remember if it's once a day or if I can give every 12 hours. I was using aspirin for Toby's arthritis until we started him on the glycoflex, and the vet suggested just once a day on the aspirin in that case. I am needing the aspirin for inflammation/pain from an injury right now.

This is from Foster&Smith site (at link) hope it helps, DeVon:
>>>>>>
Usual Dose and Administration (Aspirin)
Dogs: 5-15 mg/pound by mouth every 8-12 hours. Duration of treatment depends on response to treatment and reason for treatment. Give with a small amount of food to decrease the risk of ulcers forming.<<<<
